High Noon for Healthcare: Call Congress

| Washington politicians are trying to get their hands on your health care! Call Congress today and tell them you oppose government-run health care. 1) Better done right, than done fast. Reforming one-sixth of our economy should not be done without careful consideration of the consequences. This is not the time to advance political goals through backroom deals and legislative gimmicks like cloture. Any vote to move the current legislation through Congress is a vote to support government run health care. 2.) Meaningful health care reform should put patients before politics. Under current proposals: -New layers of bureaucracy will come between you and your physician. -Millions of seniors will lose their Medicare Advantage coverage as Washington politicians seek funding to cover the uninsured. Pitting one group of tax payers against another is not reform – it’s Washington politics at its worst. -Under proposed government-forced insurance those without health insurance could be fined and possibly even put in jail. 3) Government-run health care legislation pose serious risks to an already weak economy. Congress is considering tax increases and massive spending increases for new entitlements that do little to control health care costs for middle class and do nothing to improve quality of care. -Cost estimates are between $900 million to $1.5 trillion. That can’t possibly be revenue neutral. -The non-partisan Congressional budget office estimates the House bill will increase deficits by $239 billion over 10 years. -Job creating small businesses will be hit hard with new taxes regulations and fines under proposed legislation. -The Congressional Budget Office has reported that wages will be lowered and unemployment will rise if these bills become law. 4) Medicare is the wrong model for health care reform. Washington run Medicare is on the verge of bankruptcy due to waste, fraud and abuse. This is hardly justification for expanding that power to cover another 90 million Americans. 5) Oppose any health care bill or proposal that puts Washington in charge of your health care. | |

Bill Nelson does not answer the phone. He puts you on hold forever.Call Report for Sen. George LeMieux (R FL)
George LeMieux answered. I talked to one of his assistants. Told her about my opposition to a government take over of our healthcare system. The healthcare reform, as it stands, is not reform. It is unconstitutional. The government of this country has never forced its people to buy anything. If this healthcare bill becomes law, we will be forced to buy insurance and if we do not, we will be fined and even put in jail. This is loss of freedom. People who support this bill do not realize they are supporting their loss of freedom and this is unconstitutional. We need to pray. God needs to come forth and save this country. Read your dollar bills: IN GOD WE TRUST. PRAY to God for his help, his forgiveness. We need to kneel and ask for his forgiveness and his help so He restores this country. Study the Constitution it was written following guidelines of the Bible. Read "The 5000 year leap". Going back to the healthcare issue. This is not reform, it is control and loss of freedom. It is unconstitutional and it needs to be KILLED!!

Just called my WA reps to voice my opposition. I am a RN that has seen the abuse of Medicaid firsthand. Gave the example of a non english speaking couple that paid thousands for invitro to get pregnant then went on welfare. They showed up in the ER to deliver premature babies that we have spent probably close to $500,000 on to date. They have cell phones, cameras, neither one work and they complain about the difficulty they have getting food stamps there is no end to the assistance they ask for ie rent, utilities etc. The system is horribly broken! This comment has been reported to the site manager. Left Voice Mail office closed. Talked about economy and job losses if bill passes. Seniors will lose coverage because of billions of $'s taken from Medicare to insure uninsured. Said this bill does not reform health care, it destroys the best health care system in the world. Also, that trying to push through a bill with the kind of impact this will have on citizens is a travesty.Call Report for Sen. Carl Levin (D MI)

I asked Stabenow to vote no to health care - the country can't afford it. Senior citizens will lose because of what they are doing to Medicare. This will lose jobs and is not really reform - it is destruction of our current health care system. Left a message on Voice mail.Call Report for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D MI)
