Told him I would vote against him if he supported current health care reform bills. Told him I did not want the government to come in between me and my relationship with my doctor. Told him that he really should start listening to what the people want. Call Report for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D CA)
I called both my senators, Boxer and Feinstein. I opted to leave a V/M message at Sen. Boxer's office requesting a NO vote on the motion to proceed on the health care bill. I liked the idea of having my opinion recorded. Sen. Feinstein did not have that option so I spoke to a worker after a short wait and told her I was a registered Democrat asking for a NO vote on the motion to proceed. Don't know if any of this will do any good but we cannot give up.
There is a great deal of improvement needed for health care but another federally mandated bureaucracy is NOT the answer. I am very UNHAPPY with medicare and the Office of Personnel Management for retired annuitants and employees. Costs keep spiraling and choices continue to DECREASE. We need quality and cost controls on insurance companies and more choices and education of customers/patients to become better consumers in order to recognize fraudulent charges, double billing and excessive billing. Cost reducing methods need to be implemented such as specialty outpatient services and specialized hospital care which reduce the number of patient care errors, complications, and increase efficiency.
We have an educated resource of retired health care workers as well as current employees with invaluable and creative concepts and ideas for reducing health care costs and increasing quality health care. Congress does NOT qualify to be included in this group except for the few doctors who have been elected.

Reported to the person who answered that I am a constituent of Senator Feinstein and I believe the health care bill is not ready for a vote, there are other more pressing issues for the Senate and Congress to pursue, and the public who will have to live with the results of changes to our health care system have not had a chance to really read the complete content and how it will effect us. I asked the woman to tell Senator Feinstein to vote no at this time.
Instructions were clear, I was told by a recorded message that there would be a 2 minute wait and after 2 minutes the line would disconnect, but to please try again.
My wait was under two minutes.

Call Report for Sen. Bill Nelson (D FL)
I talked to Will who works for the Sen. Nelson, Nelson is pro govn't option, if you watch the way he votes, he always votes the party line. Also, they are working to push this down our throats by
Xmas. A bill of this magnitude, that would take 1/6th of our economy over is a warning sign of great trouble. Their are planned options for Senators, etc. like "Cadallac policies", the government itself has voted itself pension plans, and other perks. The true costs which will be astronomical are not even settled to the penny. How can such an issue this large 1900pgs appr. be deseifed so quickly-I have heard some senators are using 3 lawyers to explain the bill to them. We the public get 72 hours to do the same??? This issue should not be rushed this bill in and of itself would take a good year of study-how does congress intend to do that when pressed with so many other bills/concerns is beyond me. This is true insanity. Will was nice, and tried to explain the Senator's position truthfully in my opnion in which I was surprized, though I know Sen. Nelson will vote for the rushed Govn't healthcare plan. I also, complained about how illegal immigrants would be covered on our dime, and how the govn't keeps printing money we have to pay interest on to the private bankers which I feel all of it is major inconstitutional and none of them seem to care what the constitution says anymore. But I will keep trying.

I said that I had examined HR 3200 which I understood to be similar to the bill now at hand. I had found that our privacy was to be destroyed, decisions would be made for us, health care would be rationed, doctors and doctors in training, as well as hospitals would be controlled, and private insurance companies and employees would be controlled and we could not realistically choose to keep our own health insurance since it would be in direct competition with the Federal Government's taxpayer dollars. I said that there was no place in the Constitution that allowed the Federal Government to take charge of our health care.
